FAQ

What you ask most often

Short answers to what people want to know about Ferrata.

Why is it called Ferrata?

A via ferrata is a mountain route secured with steel cable — the terrain stays steep, but a fall no longer costs you your life, so someone without experience can still get through. This game works the same way: it does not take away the mortgage, the lost income or the market drop, it adds the safety line. You decide for real; a mistake costs you nothing.

Is it free?

Yes. The game and the glossary are free and need no sign-up. You only need an account to save your progress.

Is this investment advice?

No. Ferrata is an educational game and simulation. We don't recommend specific products — it's for learning, not financial advice.

What will I learn?

Budgeting, an emergency reserve, investing (stocks, ETFs), loans and mortgages, taxes, insurance, and the balance between money and health.

What languages is it in?

The website is in Slovak, Czech, English, German, Polish, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Hungarian, Romanian, Portuguese, Greek, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Bulgarian, Croatian, Slovenian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian, Ukrainian, Irish and Maltese. The game itself is localised into 25 languages with taxes and products of 34 countries.

Who is it suitable for?

Complete beginners, students, families and schools. Start with the recommended scenario and move on.

Can I earn all the badges?

Yes, but not in a single game. Some exclude each other, and you only earn a summit for the goal you retire with. That is why signed-in players collect badges across all their games. A complete collection makes you a mountain guide: in a challenge you can pick a friend's country and goal and give them advice for the way.

How do you handle my data?

We only process what is necessary. See the privacy policy for details.
