About

Ferrata is a free financial literacy simulator. Players pick a life scenario — first salary, car, housing, family — make financial decisions and immediately see their impact in euros. Learning by doing instead of reading theory.

Why Ferrata

A via ferrata is a route up a rock face fitted with steel cable, rungs and pegs. You clip in and go. The terrain has not changed — the wall is just as steep, the exposure just as real. What changed is that a fall no longer costs you your life. That is why someone who is not a climber can get up there, and learn the moves on the way.

Money works the same way. A mortgage, a lost income, a market drop — that is steep ground and it cannot be flattened. Ferrata does not flatten it either: every one of those situations stays in the game. It adds the cable. You make the decisions for real and see the impact in euros, but a mistake costs you nothing. When you meet the same decision in real life, you are making it for the second time.

Why it exists

Financial literacy cannot be learned by reading rules — decision-making can only be learned by making decisions. Hence a simulator, not a course: a safe environment where a mistake costs nothing but its impact is visible.

How it works

  1. 1.Pick a scenario — eight options, four of them life situations.
  2. 2.Decide — income, expenses, savings, investments, insurance, loans.
  3. 3.Watch the impact — financial health, score, wealth over time.

What Ferrata is not

It is not financial advice or product sales. Numbers in scenarios are illustrative and serve to explain principles.
