Guide: how to launch Ferrata and how to play

It runs in your browser and can be installed as an app. Free, no sign-up — an account only saves your progress.

How to launch it

In a browser. Open the link and play — nothing to download, nothing to install. Works on phone and computer alike.

On your phone, as an app. Chrome (Android): menu → Add to Home screen. Safari (iPhone): Share → Add to Home Screen. You get an icon and the game opens full screen.

On your computer, as a program. In Chrome or Edge an install icon appears in the address bar — Ferrata then runs in its own window.

What it looks like

A modern web app: clear tables, charts and decision cards, light and dark theme, on phone and computer alike. The focus stays on the numbers and on what your decision did to them.

You don't need an account

You can play as a guest, right away, without signing up. An account (email or Google) does one thing: it saves your progress, so you can pick up where you left off, even on another device. Without one, progress stays only in the browser you played in.

How you play

  1. 1

Pick your start. Either guided mode, which walks you through one life from the first paycheque, or a standalone scenario — basic, random, custom, or one of the four life situations.

  2. 2

Make decisions. You get a situation and a few options. The game won't tell you which one is right — you choose, exactly as in real life.

  3. 3

See what it did. After every step you see the impact on your budget, savings, investments and financial health. That is the whole lesson: not theory, but consequence.

Two ways to play

Guided mode

Six tracks and 57 chapters of one life — from the first job to what's left behind. You go in order and the game leads. New here? Start here.

Free play (sandbox)

Eight scenarios — three game modes and four life situations. Pick the one you're facing right now and play it on its own. It's a sandbox: try risky decisions too and see where they take you years later — without real money.

Ferrata is a game, not financial advice. The numbers are illustrative and meant to show how things connect — not to recommend what to do with your money.
